Shiatsu

Shiatsu pressure applied with the thumbs during a session

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, itself more than 2,000 years old. It works with the body's energy, helping to restore balance and encourage a sense of harmony.

Benefits of Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a manual practice of Japanese origin, whose name literally means “finger pressure.” Usually performed fully clothed, it combines adapted pressure applied with the thumbs, fingers and palms across different areas of the body.

Each session is personalised to your needs and how you feel in the moment. Through attentive touch and gradual pressure, Shiatsu invites the body to slow down, release tension, and rediscover a sense of calm, comfort and wellbeing.

Shiatsu can help to:

  • promote deep relaxation and better stress management;
  • release muscular tension and stiffness;
  • bring a sense of lightness and ease throughout the body;
  • support mobility and muscular and joint comfort;
  • encourage greater awareness of the body and its needs;
  • accompany periods of physical or mental fatigue;
  • foster better balance between body, mind and emotions;
  • contribute to overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Beyond a simple massage, Shiatsu is a time of listening and presence with oneself. It suits both those looking to ease discomfort and those simply wishing to give themselves a moment of prevention, recovery and relaxation.

Shiatsu is a complementary wellbeing approach. It does not replace a diagnosis, medical follow-up, or treatment prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Who is Shiatsu for?

Shiatsu suits anyone looking to relax, recover, or simply reconnect with their body — whether you’re dealing with physical or mental fatigue, or just want a moment of care.
